Auto tuning and cars advertised on digital TV

Television has come along way from the old black and white televisions which used to have only one channel, that being the BBC. In its beginnings the television was seen as a luxury that only middle class families and the high earners could afford. Most people who had televisions back in the day, were seen as well to do. The invention of the television itself was not by one man, but several inventors and scientists who came together with numerous ideas.
The first televisions which were released were not totally electronic, the television screen was made up of a spinning disc, a neon lamp and a small motor which came together to show a orange/reddish picture which was at the time quite blurry, and about the size of a credit card. These televisions were made prior to 1935, after this period the electronic television was launched and perfected. Several countries experimented with broadcasting of programmes, but there were very few televisions available to the public, and most people could not afford the luxury of having a television.
Television broadcasting just about came to a stand still during World War II, but it was after the war that television really started to take off. Many families had managed to save during the rationing and the war years, this enabled them to afford luxuries that they had never had before. Many were quick to purchase homes and cars after the world war, and televisions were just a must have accessory which was added to this list. For people who couldn’t afford to buy, rental was the next available option, and a weekly charge was made in order that they afford this great invention.
By the 1950’s most people had a television set in their home, although it was black and white television at this point in time. It wasn’t until 1967 that an official colour television programme was launched on channel two. By the latter end of the 1970’s most people had a colour television, and programmes and television viewing was beginning to get popular. With the launch of more sitcoms and soaps through the 1980’s a television was certainly a must have accessory. By the 1980’s people were beginning to buy televisions for other rooms in the house, and by the 1990’s most children had a television in their bedroom.
More television channels have been launched along the way, and most of these new channels are sponsored by the advertisements which are shown in between programmes. Some of the advertising is for food, other is to promote cars. There are many programmes which feature cars too and are sponsored by the big car manufacturers who specialise in chiptuning and auto tuning.
The analog television era is quickly coming to an end, and it is digital television which will enable us to view a televisions, this digital transmission will mean that the view will receive more in the way of channels, and the signal will be much clearer than it has been in the past. The advantage of having digital will mean that you can top up the amount of television channels you receive if you so wish. Free view means you get more channels, plus it also means you have to pay a one off charge for a set top box or a television that receives free view. This differs from Digital and sky of the past, were you would be expected to pay a monthly premium
